Rhaeology is more than a name—it’s a study of flow, movement, and evolution, much like my journey as an artist. Rooted in the Greek word rheō meaning “to flow,” the brand represents the continuous growth of my artistry and the meaningful connections created through my work. Every piece I design—whether on skin or canvas—is guided by purpose, culture, and fluid creativity.

I’m Mariyah Rhae Lewis, a dark-skin tattoo specialist dedicated to creating high-detail artwork that honors and highlights melanated skin tones. My work focuses on cultural storytelling, Afrocentric designs, and celebrating individuality through body art and fine art pieces. Representation matters, and my goal is to make every client feel seen, valued, and beautifully adorned with artwork that resonates.

My passion for specializing in dark-skin tattooing comes from personal experience and witnessing the lack of proper representation in the tattoo industry. Too often, people with richly melanated skin are overlooked or told certain designs aren’t possible for them. I aim to change that narrative—proving that detailed, vibrant, and meaningful tattoos can and should be accessible to everyone, regardless of skin tone.
